Goodbye November, Hello December Book Wrap Up

I know it’s been awhile since I’ve blogged and that November ended like… well about… almost two weeks ago.😂 Goodbye November, Hello December.👋🏽 But I really wanted to share a quick post on the books I’ve read last month.📚 📸

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush #1)

Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

But before long, Nora’s defenses start to break down as her curiosity about Patch heats up. Why does he always seem to be wherever she is and know exactly what she’s thinking? How does he know what to say to both attract and repulse her? And what is up with those V-shaped scars on his chiseled back?

As their connection grows stronger, Nora’s own life becomes increasingly fragile. Nora needs to decide: Is Patch the one who wants to do her harm or the one who will keep her safe? Has she fallen for one of the fallen?

Rating:💚💚💚💚💚

Review

🔅 Have I fallen for one of the fallen? Pshhh I mean just look at that cover. Beautiful. Patch is a sight for sore eyes. I’m a huge fan of the whole fallen angel stories.😈

All he had to do was convince her that they were meant to be–that he was the right brother after all…

Then she meets Hector, who is more exciting and dangerous than anyone else she knows. Through him , she learns about a side of herself that she never knew existed…

Rating:💚💚💚💚💚

Review

🔅This book was probably the most surprising to me because I actually ended up really loving it. I would always see the Daughters Of The Moon books but never gave them much thought until I read Moon Demon. When I went back to buy the rest of books they were all gone. Oh the irony.🙃

If We Kiss (If We Kiss #1)
by Rachel Vail

If We Kiss by Rachel Vail

Synopsis:

Kevin led me quickly around the side of the building, then stopped. I managed not to crash into him. I tried to look calm, cool, unperturbed. I told myself not to laugh, especially not a snorting kind of laugh. “Wha . . . what did . . .”

And then he kissed me.

Charlotte (Charlie to her friends) finds herself falling for a boy who is off-limits. Her best friend is in love with him, and her mother and his father are dating. Still, Charlie can’t help but wonder, what would happen if we kiss?

Rating:💚💚💚💚💚

Review

🔅I really enjoyed reading Charlie’s story. I will admit I was worried about how things were going to turn out, romantically speaking, because she was young. So I definitely appreciated the direction the story went in and where it left the characters. But don’t get me wrong, I’m still rooting for Charlie & Kevin.💘

One Night with the Wealthy Rancher (Texas Cattleman’s Club: Maverick County Millionaires #2)
by Brenda Jackson

One Night With The Wealthy Rancher by Brenda Jackson

Synopsis:

Texas Cattleman’s Club member Darius Foster is tired of women chasing after his millions. Certain she had relocated just to get close to him–and his money–the ex-lawman vowed to keep his distance. But when danger came calling, Darius knew he was the only one who could protect Summer. And that meant getting closer to her…in every way!

Rating:💚💚💚💚💚

Review

🔅Oh Darius, you can’t replace love with hate.😏 No matter how much you tell yourself you can, it’s only a matter of time before your heart reminds you of that.

🔅Have you guys read any of these books? If so, what did you like or didn’t like? If you haven’t, any books that you want to check out?📚🤔 If I had to choose only one book to re-read, hands down Moon Demon.🌙

The Mafia And His Angel: Part 1 by Lylah James

I have fallen dangerously in love with this book, the cover and it’s characters. I should really stop torturing myself like this. Reading samples of books I mean. But I’ve never been good at taking my own advice so.😂

The Mafia And His Angel: Part 1 (Tainted Hearts) by Lylah James.

The Mafia And His Angel: Part 1 (Tainted Hearts) by Lylah James

Synopsis:

Alessio…

Cold. Ruthless. Killer. I am respected and feared by all.

I wasn’t put on this earth to love or be loved. I was put here to wipe out every last member of the damn Abandonato mafia, to pay them back for my mother’s death.

When I find a strange girl hiding, beaten, under my bed, I don’t let her live out of compassion. She’s a trinket, my plaything.

Ayla…

I thought Alessio was only one more man who wanted to use me, hurt me, and throw me away. I don’t know what it is to trust anymore. I can’t find my heart under the pain.

Alessio found it. He touched it, and brought it alive again.

But if he discovers just how dangerous I am to him…I’ll lose my life.

The Mafia And His Angel: Part 1 (Tainted Hearts) by Lylah James, book 1 out of 2 in Tainted Heart Series

“…I had no choice, no will. No respect. No love. I had nothing…”

Omg Ayla.😭
I admire her will to run until she couldn’t run anymore. It shows how strong of a person she is. Determined to make it out of a horrible situation she was placed in by the hands of her father. I felt her frustrations and despair. Her escaping one dangerous situation only to land herself into a another one… a sexier one. *cough cough* 😏

Alessio.🌹

Note to self: Never Betray The King. Alessio isn’t one to be messed with and there’s a reason why he’s feared and powerful. I was intrigued. Reading what he would do to those who betrayed his trust and position. Or more so, what he would do to the little kitten he found under his bed.😏

“..His presence made me nervous. Scared. And giddy…”

Ahhhh same Ayla. He’s the definition of dark and beautiful. Even though he was pretty scary and had a gun pointed at her.😅 It was intense, electrifying, hot, nerve-racking, omg you name it!!!🔥

I was hanging on to every word. The power that radiated from him, like Ayla, I was drawn to his character.🙏🏽😚 Literally had me fidgeting and squealing with all these OTP feels.💚

🔅 I wanted to keep this short and sweet because I haven’t read the whole book yet. I definitely hope to continue Alessio’s and Ayla’s story soon. Which I’m sure will be passionate and all consuming.🙏🏽😍

Meeting Sang: Silas by C.L. Stone

Omg guys you have no idea how long I’ve waited for this book!😭 I’ve read and loved the first two books where we get Kota and Victor’s perspective on Meeting Sang. This is a alternate opening to Introductions: The Ghost Bird Series book #1 by C.L. Stone. I nearly choked when I saw this in C.L. Stones newsletter this week. I have been waiting forever for Silas’s book. Can I just say how much I love his nickname for Sang, his aggele mou.👼

Meeting Sang: Silas (The Ghost Bird #1.3) by C.L. Stone.

Meeting Sang: Silas (The Ghost Bird #1.3) by C.L. Stone

Synopsis:

Silas Korba’s days are filled with working for the Academy and dealing with the realities of bringing his family from Greece to America. Only today is a little different; he meets a girl—a mysterious girl—who needs his help and maybe the help of the Academy.

He doesn’t know her, but he wants to. There’s something different and special about her and he has a feeling she’s going to change his life forever.

| Goodreads |

There’s a better understanding of some of the scenes from the first book like when they mentioned Victor’s father and the whole sushi thing… why am I not surprised.🙄 Or the Greg incident when Victor and Sang where in the car waiting outside the mall for Silas and Kota. Yassss!👏🏽 I know I shouldn’t be surprised but Kota always finds a way to impress me. Maybe it’s the glasses or his calm demeanor but I should know better than to underestimate him.😍

Silas: Meeting Sang #3 by C.L. Stone

Oh Silas, my Greek God, tough on the outside but a big old softie in the inside. The best way to describe him would be as a gentle giant.🏈 He has a lot of qualities that I love, like his strength and his protectiveness. But there’s more to him than just muscle.💪🏽

“Silas finally realized what bugged him the most about Sang’s situation.
She didn’t hang up on him when he called.
She stayed on the phone with him, for as long as she could”

He’s smart, perceptive and has good instincts like the rest of the guys. Especially with Sang, he could tell right away that something was off. And the fact that he didn’t know how to help shows how big his heart is and the inner struggle he faced. Which only makes me as the reader want to reach out and hug him because I know the consequences that await Sang because of his good intentions.😔 Something that stood out to me too, was when he noticed Sang being mesmerized by the carousel. Sang Sorenson is seriously too pure for this world.😭

“He’s just twitterpated,” Silas said. He grinned, wanting to laugh at his own joke. Birds. Twitterpated. Victor blushing. It was all funny to him.”

Really Silas? Twitterpated? He definitely made me smile and laugh with his horrible jokes.😂 I also liked how we got some insight into his family life with his brother and hope to learn more about it in House of Korba which I’m currently reading and is also book #7 in the series.📚

Meeting Sang: Silas (The Ghost Bird #1.3) by C.L. Stone

I thought Silas: Meeting Sang #3 was everything I’ve waited for. It was short but it didn’t disappoint.😍 I love reading through the boys point of view and their first impressions of Sang. I found myself falling in love with Silas all over again. I can’t wait to read Nathan’s next.🙀 As well as the rest from all The Academy Boys, especially from the beautiful and sophisticated Mr. Blackbourne.🎻

🔅If you guys haven’t read Introductions: The Ghost Bird Series: #1 (The Academy Ghost Bird Series) by C.L. Stone, you’re seriously missing out.📚

🔅 I can guarantee you’ll be sending in your application to join The Academy soon enough.😏

Malevolent by Suzana Thompson.

Suzana Thompson has books that just draw me in whether that’s because of her style of writing, characters, storylines, I just can’t get enough. I guess the way the male characters are written make me want them all as my book boyfriends.😍 I get super excited when she puts up a book free for a limited time on Amazon. So make sure to check out her blog on goodreads for updates on those. I already purchased about half of them.🙀

Rating: 💜💜💜💜💜

I knew this book was going to be good but WOW. I couldn’t even begin to tell you how many times my jaw hit the floor. At one point I consecutively stopped breathing.🙄 Heck I’m still having trouble catching breath from all of those sweet kisses to outer body experiences. Holy crap. I covered my mouth & repeatedly gasped “…Noooo…” or “Wait… What?!” or ” …OMG!!…” while screeching hysterically to myself. Not my finest moment but I was shook.🙀 Truths hit you straight in the face when you least expect it, from people you least it expect it from.

Malevolent by Suzana Thompson, Book Review

Brandon is just filled with surprises huh? (Well you could say that’s the understatement of the year.) I did appreciate the fact that he was trying to make amends with Ivy and apologize for being a jerk to her but there’s a fine line between doing the right thing and taking matters into your own hands. The pressures of popularity, I don’t think theres any excuse for someone you once considered to be your best friend to drop you like a hot potato you know. Not cool, not cool at all.🙅🏽 Regardless of how Ivy has been treated in the past she still tries to find the good in people and I think it shows the type of person she is. I found her character to be someone I really liked. Her innocent, awkward and quirky qualities made her endearing. No wonder Mr Bad Boy Lucas Kerr over here has taken interest.😏 He’s mysterious but there’s more to him than meets his harden exterior. All I can say is can I have a Lucas Kerr in my life? *Sigh*🙋🏽

Malevolent by Suzana Thompson, Book inspired.

They had started in a dark place, but they had found their way out of it. I was left wanting more. The way the story was set up and where all the characters are, I take comfort knowing how things turned out. There was a really sweet moment between Ivy & her love interest.😏 The promise and possibilities of their future together and what it holds, I can’t help but smile like a doofus at the thought of it. Don’t get me wrong I really loved the ending and was relieved that it wasn’t overly complicated but I can’t help but question if things are really settled? I mean is it really over? I mean like really? If half the things in this book are possible, what else is you know?🤔 Honestly I just don’t want to say goodbye to these characters yet.❤️ You know what just turn this book into a series. Give me like 10 books.📚😂

🔅Any Suzana Thompson fans? Let me know in the comments below if this sounds like your type of book, or if there are any other books from her that spike your interest.📚

The Moment We Began by Sarra Cannon

This book was too tempting not to read I mean come on who doesn’t like a good love story? Immediately after I read the synopsis, I knew this was where I wanted to start in The Fairhope Series.

The Moment We Began (Fairhope Series Book 2) by Sarra Cannon.

The Moment We Began (Fairhope Series Book 2) by Sarra Cannon.
Synopsis: The moment they both believe all hope is lost is the moment something real finally begins.
I have loved Mason Trent for years, but I’ve only been sleeping with him for one.
None of my friends know about our secret passion. He’s in my bed one night and in the arms of someone else the next. And it’s tearing me apart.
I’ve done everything I can think of to make him mine, but the more I cling to him, the harder he pushes me away. I’m spiraling out of control, not sure how much more of this I can take. A girl can only bend so far until she breaks. And when I do, I break completely. I’m talking about one night of bad decisions, all leading to a my-world-will-never-be-the-same kind of moment. A moment where I need Mason more than ever. True to form, though, he’s running.
But I intend to go with him this time. I’m willing to leave my money, my family, my friends behind for this one last chance to see if he could ever really love me the way I deserve to be loved. I’m willing to sacrifice forever if it means one real moment with him.

***Due to sexual content, this book is best suited to readers 16+. This is book 2 out of 6 in The Fairhope Series.

The Moment We Began by Sarra Cannon, the Fairhope series, book 2

From the first chapter I felt her pain. I felt the magnitude of the love she carried for this guy who wouldn’t love her back. Where the love she had for him was intense and the heartache was equally amplified . Every time she tried to push, he pulled back. Omg the utter torture.🙄 He kept sending her mixed signals. It was frustrating because part of me wanted her to let him go and move on but between all the sexual tension and the all consuming kissing, oh boy I’m left breatheless.😏 I understood why she couldn’t. Her life was heading in new directions and she wanted one last chance to see if there was something truly there or if she needed to walk away from him once and for all.

The Moment We Began by Sarra Cannon, book 2 out of 6 in the Fairhope series.

When they were together, it was magical, adventurous and above all real.🗺 We got to know Mason and why he is the way he is. Why he kept her at arms length. It made it impossible for me not to love him right then and there. But Like Penelope, he carries his own secrets, some that might ruin the blossoming relationship between them.

Just when I thought she couldn’t go through any more devastation. She experiences something so huge that it could leave her permanently broken. Damn. Once I started crying I couldn’t stop.😖 You go through this split second moment where you wonder how things will go from here. If things can be resolved. Both of them made choices, had their fair share of mistakes and regrets. Beyond anything else they overcame those obstacles and realized they needed each other.

The Moment We Began by Sarra Cannon - Penelope and Mason inspired.

No matter what I rooted for Mason, I knew he wouldnt disappoint me! I was like “Omg, Yes Mason! You bulldoze through every last person until you get to the woman you love.”😍 I swear my kindle almost slipped through my grasp when I screamed for joy. I placed my hand over my heart and tried to regain my composure. I didn’t want the story to ever end. I want to be there for the next phase in their lives. These characters, their love, experiences, memories, the people they met along the way, their journey was one that made me believe in it all, hope, strength and love.❤️

The Moment We Began by Sarra Cannon, book 2 in the Fairhope series, book inspired.

🔅Each book in The Fairhope Series can stand-alone, but you’ll see updates on your favorite characters throughout each book, so read them in order to get the most out of the series!🙀

🔅I’ve already have purchased the first and third book in the series even though I don’t think I’ll read the first book quite yet. Nothing against those characters or their story but third book seems to be more my style.📚

Lay Me Down by Tamara Hart Heiner

Even though I’m only able to read a sample of the book. Believe me when I say this will be going on top of the books I need to buy list.👏🏽

Lay Me Down (A Kellam High Novel) by Tamara Hart Heiner.

Lay Me Down (A Kellam High Novel) by Tamara Hart Heiner
Synopsis: Life is more than just breathing. Kylee lives with her evil stepfather and distracted mother, and she’s tired of pretending to be happy. She’s tired of being the good daughter. She’s tired of acting like she’s not lonely. It’s time for a change. But she lacks the courage to do anything about her situation until Price moves in next door. He doesn’t just show her how to survive her life – he shows her what it means to be alive.

Goodreads|BookBub|Amazon

Rating:💜💜💜💜💜

Right away I found myself relating to Kylees character and found parallels between us to some extent. Not necessarily in the same situations or choices she makes but overall in the feelings she goes through. She’s vulnerable and above anything else yearns to be loved.💔

DIY egg decor - lay me down by Tamara Hart Heiner
Yes, this is my sad attempt at trying to be creative. I mean I didn’t just want to have plain eggs in the picture so I thought I would try and add something to it. Key word tried. They say art is subjective but still you learn and become better with time.

And she’d have friends. So many friends and admirers that she would have to carry a pocket calendar everywhere she went. She pictured herself as an adult, strolling down the sidewalk in a glamorous dress, stopping to greet all the people who adored her. All the handsome men who wanted her company. “I’d love to do dinner, Andrew. Oh, Friday? I’m so sorry, Friday doesn’t work for me. Lunch is taken on Saturday, also. I can do dinner on Saturday!”

When she’s fantasying about starting a new life, where people WANT to be her friend and guys WANT to date her, my heart broke a bit. I couldn’t help but cry. Being cut off from the everyone and everything is a heavy burden to carry especially when you’re young. You need that human interaction. So I understand why she’s so intrigued when new neighbors move in next door. Even more so, when a cute guy her age is there too. Her determination is admirable. It’s still a hard lump to swallow when she keeps getting shot down. I can’t help but feel defensive for Kylee but Price has his reasons for being distant. Some that I’m hoping to learn more about when I purchase the rest of the book.📚

Lay Me Down by Tamara Hart Heiner, A Kellam High Novel, Kylee inspired.

🔅The book is a page turner. I kept holding in my breath, praying for the sample to continue on and on. Theres mystery and I would say a supernatural element to the story I wasn’t expecting. To be honest I didn’t catch it right away. I was like wait a minute somethings happening here. Whether it’s coming directly from Kylee herself or around her, something is definitely happening.🤔

🔅What are your thoughts? Does this book sound like something you would be interested in reading for yourself? I’ve already have theories brewing in my head and contemplating what direction the story might be going.📚

Falling for my Best Friend by Hazel Kelly

Falling for my Best Friend (Fated Series Book 1) by Hazel Kelly.

Falling for my Best Friend (Fated Series Book 1) by Hazel Kelly.
Synopsis: Lucy and Aiden have been friends since they were kids. Best friends. And they’ll never be anything more.
Or at least, that’s what Lucy keeps telling herself…

**Warning: This new adult romance series contains adult situations and mature content.

“I think you’re soft. I think it’s all a façade and you’re really Rainbow Brite on the inside.”

“You got me. Peel back my skin, and I’m just a pile of gummy bears.”

Falling for my Best Friend, Fated Series Book 1 by Hazel Kelly - Lucy inspired.

Just within the first couple of chapters I already was loving Lucy and Aiden. They have a friendship anyone would be envious of. (Me included😍) . I like how supportive they are of each other. When these two are in scene together I can’t help but smile. No matter what they go through they can always lighten up the mood and make each other feel better. They just get each other. It wasn’t just them just falling for each other but It was also us falling along with them.❤️

Falling for my Best Friend (Fated Series Book 1) by Hazel Kelly - Lucy inspired.

“…I didn’t have a lot of balls at all. The truth was I used Tinder because I was totally gutless, because I wanted to seem normal, and because it gave me the perfect excuse to never get close to anybody…”

In no way are these characters perfect, they have their own struggles they deal with. Lucy, I freaking love her sense of humor, goes on a lot of tinder dates that typically don’t work out so well. (I mean its hilarious to read and totally relatable because we’ve all been through those really AWKWARD dates.) It could be because she subconsciously compares all her dates to Aiden.😏 She basically sets herself up for disaster. Yet she doesn’t allow herself to see Aiden more than just her best friend. Lucy has her issues. Some that we don’t get to explore too much in this book but enough to know it’s something that she’s clearly dealt with for a long time.

“…I’d never known anyone who was more true to his word. If he told you he would be there, he would be. If he made a promise, he didn’t break it. If he entered into a relationship with you, you were given every benefit of the doubt until you crossed him, and then it was like you never existed…”

Model girlfriends and money aside, I applaud Aiden.👏🏽 Not only for being my leading man or being a best friend a girl could ask for but for being a really good boyfriend. Maybe even too good for his current girlfriend. He puts up with a lot. I don’t like Chelsea whatsoever. I understand wanting to be healthy and eating right but I mean come on. Let Aiden eat lol.🍦🍔🍕🍝🍞 Chelsea is a snake. I tried to sympathize with her but she’s repeatedly doing things that make it hard to. The extremes people do in order to pursue their dreams. But at what cost? Aiden’s concerns are understandable. How do you help someone who doesn’t want listen?

Who doesn’t love ice cream? Oh yeah evil people.🤔

Falling for my Best Friend (Fated Series Book 1) by Hazel Kelly - Lucy and Aiden inspired.

I freaking LOVE ice cream!😚
I absolutely love that Aiden and Lucy have this thing where they check out new places for the best ice cream.☺️ Recently I’ve been eating nothing but coffee and peanut butter cup ice cream. It’s not as gross as it sounds I swear!😂 I’m with you there guys I might never eat another vegetable ever again.🙅🏽

“So what’s the plan? Spend the rest of the summer sulking in here so you look like a vampire the first day of sophomore year?”

“It’s not the worst idea. Chicks dig vampires, right?”

Aw the relationship between Lucy and her brother reminds me of the one I have with my own brother.😂 Yes chicks dig vampires. Duh. Young love. Heartbreak. What a great combination for some inspiration. I mean what would the world be without Adele or Taylor swift?

“…I’d rather have an All American boy with blond hair and blue eyes who looks far too innocent to do the nasty things I’d have planned for him.”

Omg Fiona, she’s seriously hilarious! The things she says, it makes sense that she’s besties with Lucy.🙏🏽😂 She’s also not afraid to call you out and gives pretty good advice. Dr Phil in the house. I like that she’s protective of Lucy especially with a boss like theirs. Omg what a creep!! My heart was racing so fast!🙀

Falling for my Best Friend (Fated Series Book 1 out of 5) by Hazel Kelly.

I actually liked how we didn’t start off on the Lucy and Aiden train right away. We were seeing them as best friends, their lives outside of each other and their relationships with other characters. Little by little they both started to realize their feelings for each other. It was slow but inevitable. It ended in a really good place … The last line … Aiden FINALLY seeing Lucy in a new light … I’ve been waiting patiently for it and …. I literally leaned back in my chair covering my face with my hands. I don’t know why I torture myself with reading a book series. I need to read the next book! But I never got that gift card for my birthday Ahhhh.🙄

🔅Guys Lucy has impeccable taste not just in best friends *Cough Aiden Cough*😏 or in ice cream but also in music. I have heard of the The Kinks but never took the time to really listen to their music before. Now I have them stuck on repeat.

🔅This is my first book from Hazel Kelly and believe me it will not be my last. I highly recommend this book if you want a sweet and funny story about unexpected love between two best friends. Again this book covers some adult situations and mature content so be warned.📚
